About
Hi!
I’m Alena, the only one behind Goblin’s Hoard. (I’m conscious of my online footprint, so I don’t like showing my face too much on the internet.)
I’m queer, neurodivergent (AuDHD) and live with MCAS. I grew up a book nerd, I care about the world deeply, I have currently 48 houseplants and two geckos and am a theater-kid who fell in love with TTRPGs in 2018. This brought me inevitably to my fascination with handmade dice and after debating it for literal years I took the plunge in late 2022 and started making dice myself. And I fell in love deeply!
To this day, it is the creative outlet I enjoy most consistently - with ups and downs and breaks due to a work-related burn-out. And I love how much joy I can bring to other people by sharing my craft and being part of the dice community.
Dice making is still a “hobby” to me in the sense that I work a job besides it and barely make an additional income from it. This is a conscious decision since adding the pressure of having to earn a living from it would rob me of my joy quickly. And it allows me to put as much care into each set as I want (currently ca. 10-15 working hours per each set). The only drawback is that I can do only a limited amount of dice per month and that things like commissions and finishing services can take a little while. But I try my best to communicate transparently and bring you dice you’ll love in the end!
Thank you for being part of my journey! ♥
